What is anxiety?
Anxiety is a natural human response to perceived threats, playing a vital role in our survival by motivating us to take action against danger. Essentially, it functions as an inbuilt alarm system designed to protect us.

However, like any alarm system, it isn’t foolproof. When anxiety starts to interfere with daily life it can lead to significant distress. At this point, anxiety needs to be managed to prevent it from overwhelming our well-being and daily life.
Managing children and teen anxiety
Anxiety disorders, such as separation anxiety, phobias, social anxiety disorder, panic disorder or generalised anxiety disorder are among the most common mental health conditions experienced by children and teen worldwide.
Anxiety in children and teens can appear as shyness, fearfulness, or low confidence—but it can also show up as oppositional, irritable, aggressive, or overactive behaviour.
Anxiety can be very challenging for parents and the family as a whole, impacting often school attendance and social life.

Anxiety and ADHD
often go together

Many people with ADHD also experience anxiety. This is very common. In fact, anxiety is one of the most frequent conditions that shows up alongside ADHD.

Why?
Because living with ADHD can be stressful. Struggling to focus, stay organized, meet deadlines, or manage emotions can lead to constant worry or overwhelm. This stress builds up and often turns into anxiety.

Anxiety can also make ADHD symptoms feel worse.
When you're anxious, it's harder to focus, plan, or stay calm. That’s why it's so important to look at both ADHD and anxiety in coaching.
